Meticulous attention to detail goes into every panel we build. All of our ETL, CSA and UL-approved industrial control and automation panels meet the most stringent safety standards, ensuring approval by all regulatory authorities across Canada and the United States. Our team is committed to providing you with a superior product, meeting your specifications, and exceeding your quality standards.
We build custom automation panels for industrial manufacturing applications across mainland Nova Scotia. We began fabricating our own panels after receiving panels from other panel shops that were of inferior quality. Often requiring extensive modifications before we could install them, our attention turned to becoming experts and leaders in fabricating custom panels. We knew we could do it better.
Regardless of whether you need a standard panel build or a full design + build, we have relationships with leading engineering firms in Nova Scotia. If your project requires a design component, we can facilitate.
How Does Custom Panel Fabrication Work?
The first step in fabricating a custom electrical panel entails the client or engineer sending us plans (schematics) for the custom panel application. From there, we provide a quote for the panel fabrication job.
We pride ourselves on our flexibility and can source components for the build or, if you have an established supplier relationship, we can work with components that you provide.
Our Experience Building Custom Automation Panels
We have installed hundreds of custom panels in industrial plants and manufacturing facilities throughout Halifax/Dartmouth (HRM) and mainland Nova Scotia. More recently, we have begun both building and installing custom automation panels.
We can build panels of all types and using different components and technologies including:
- Automation panels
- Industrial control panels
- Electrical control panels
- PLC (programmable logic controller) panels
- VFD (variable frequency drive) panels
- Communications panels
Why Use A Custom Electrical Panel Shop?
Although some electrical contractors will assemble panels, not all are certified by relevant industry bodies. When you trust the panel shop at Northumberland Electric Inc., you’re getting a fully certified experience. We have certifications in Industrial Control Panel Manufacturing via Intertek’s ETL Certification Program.
All builders in the NEI panel shop are certified electricians. Whereas some panel shops hire non-electricians to build, we ensure that your custom panel is handled only by qualified electricians throughout the entire process. Our panel shop team members have decades of experience in industrial electrical installation and fabrication.
Intertek’s ETL Certification Program
We have current certifications from Intertek’s ETL Certification program in the area of Industrial Control Panel Manufacturing. As such, we are able to use the ETL Mark which is a trusted proof of product compliance across North America. Intertek is accredited as a Testing Organization and Certification Body by the Standards Council of Canada.
